Summer Employment Program

From May 6 to August 17, students can register to participate in the State Employment Agency's (NVA's) Summer Employment Program. This initiative offers valuable work experience during the summer break and financial support for both students and employers.

Who Can Participate?

  • Students aged 15 to 20 (inclusive).
  • Enrolled in general, special, or vocational education institutions or graduating from one this year.
  • Employment period: June 1 - August 31
  • Duration: 2 weeks to 2 months

How to Apply:

  1. Log in to the NVA CV and vacancy portal using state or bank-issued electronic identification.
  2. Fill in the application form, indicating your school and contact information.
  3. Browse job listings in the Summer Holiday Jobs section on the NVA website. Listings are updated regularly.
  4. Contact the employer directly to apply for a position.
  5. If a match is made, NVA will send a participation referral to your email and your profile in the portal.

Note: Registration does not guarantee a job. Positions are limited, and employers will choose suitable candidates from among those who apply.

Legal Requirements

  • Jobs must be safe and age-appropriate.
  • Students aged 15-17 may work up to 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week.
  • The minimum monthly wage is €740 before taxes for full-time work.

For Employers - Available Support

  • 50% wage subsidy (or 100% if employing a student with a disability).
  • 10% subsidy for the student's work supervisor (or 60% with a student with a disability).
  • Up to €50 for health checks, if required.
  • Accident insurance provided for all student employees.
  • Consultations available for employers hiring students with disabilities.
